The Young Hafiz

The Young Hafiz

There was a young man, who got to know about a precious stone. He decided not to come back to his house till he finds the stone. So he left his house with a little provision. He sat down to sketch a map on a notebook. He had a very long route to cover

But he stuck to his ambition and had very high hopes.

He believed that if he found the stone he would not have to work anymore and would become the wealthiest person.

All his worries and problems would be finished. Everyone would respect him. Ultimately he would become a successful man.

He traveled through many countries, cities, towns, jungles, and mountains in search of the stone for forty years.

At last while he was passing by an ancient mine he found the stone underneath a heavy rock but by then he had become very old and frail looking person.

Holding the stone tightly in his fist, he started jumping with great joy and happiness. Suddenly he saw a young boy sitting by the stream, reciting the Quraan-e-Kareem in a beautiful tone.

The boy's penetrating words of the Quraan-e-Hakeem struck the man's heart. It seemed that trees, birds, water all were listening to his Quraan.

He thought to himself that he had become too old and weak, so why not give the stone this young man.

The man came up to the boy and said, young man, may I have your attention please. I have traveled through many countries, Cities, towns, jungles and mountains in search of this precious stone for forty long ho years. Now I have found it, but I have become very weak and old. I want you to have it because you seem to be pious and have long life ahead of you."

"What would I do with it?" The boy asked suspiciously.

"Oh..., you would be the most successful, happiest and wealthiest person in the world.. laughed the man as he stretched out his hands.

"But I have found the Creator of this stone as well as all the stones of the entire universe," said the boy confidently.

"Allah Ta'ala has all the treasures of success, happiness, peace, respect and sustenance. Allah Ta'ala has got power over every thing." smiled the young boy as he raised his index finger to the sky, as the little boy continued, "If you had given even a little time to your Creator. Everything would have become yours."

The man broke into tears and the boy's words sank into his heart. He repented and threw the stone and served rest of his life to become the friend of Allah Ta'ala.

Lesson:

Even the young ones can become the means of guidance for the Elders if they are on the right path.

Ashfaqulla Khan (October 22, 1900 - December 19, 1927) was a freedom fighter in Indian independence movement. The British authorities considered him a terrorist because of his active participation in Kakori train robbery.

The Lion Among Men
The hero in chains walked upright and with resolve between soldiers who led him to the hangman’s post. Those who were there forgot their positions and prestige and gazed at him with wonder and admiration. Once at the foot of the steps leading to the post, he covered them in two leaps and stood facing the post. When they removed the chains, he put forward his arms, drew the rope towards him and kissed it. He said, "My hands are not soiled with the murder of man. The charge against me is false. God will give me justice".Then he prayed in clear, ringing tones "La ilahi il Allah, Mohammed Ur Rasool Allah".The hangman’s noose came round his neck. The moment the lever was pressed, the plank on which he stood moved quickly and he went down into the pit below. He joined the band of the brave immortal heroes of the land. This hero was Ashafaqulla, the immortal revolutionary .

The Sufi Saint of the Twentieth Century
Shaikh Ahmad Al- Alawi
Martin Lings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Lings

After building the zawiya, the fuqara asked Shaikh Ahmad Al- Alawi if they can have a festival to celebrate ite inauguration. The Shaikh gave his consent. Martin Lings was surprised because this was contraty to his taste for solitude. The Shaikh said, "You are right. Such things are superfluous. But one must take men as they are. Not all can find complete satisfaction in pure intelligence and contemplation. They have a need now and then to gather together and to feel that their own ideas are shaed by a great many others. It is simply a union to share ideas and communal prayers.

The Physical Ascension of the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam)

The Physical Ascension of the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam)

From:- Transalator's Introduction
The Secrets of Secrets by Hadrat Abdul -Qadir Al-Jilani (May Allah Sanctify his secret)
Interpreted by Shaykh Tosum Bayrak al-Jerrahi al-Halveti

There was a very wise and influential priest in Baghdad who had many followers. This man had vast knowledge not only of the Judaic and Christian traditions but also of Islam. He knew Islam and the Holy Qu'ran and had great love and appreciation of the the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam). The Caliph respected the priest and hoped that he and his followers would become Muslims one day. Indeed he was ready to accept the religion, except for one thing. The thing that prevented him which he could neither accept nor understand , was the physical ascension of the the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam) to the heavens during his lifetime.

The Ascension took place when one night, the the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam) was brought body and soul from Medina to Jerusalem and from there to the seven heavens, where he saw many things. He visited Paradise and Hell, and went beyond these to meet his Lord, who spoke ninety thousand words with him. He returned before his bed had cooled, and before a leaf which he had touched in passing had stopped trembling.

The mind of the priest could not accept the ascension of the the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam) and his coming back to tell about it. . Indeed when the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam) declared it the day after it happened, many Muslims did not believe and left their religion. This then is a test of true faith, for the mind cannot conceive such a thing.

The Caliph introduced all the wise men and teachers of his time to the priest in order to eliminate his doubts, but none of them succeeded. Then one evening he sent word to Hadrat Abdul-Qadir, asking him if he could convince the priest of the truth of the Ascension.

When Hadrat Abdul-Qadir came to the palace he found the priest and the caliph playing chess. As the priest lifted a chess piece to move it, his eyes met those of the Shaykh. He blinked his eyes….and as he opened them again he found himself drowning in a rapidly running river! He was shouting for help when a young shepherd jumped into the water to save him. As the shepherd held onto him, he realized he was naked and had been transformed into a young girl.

The shepherd pulled her out of the water and asked her whose daughter she was and where she lived. When the priest mentioned Baghdad, the shepherd said that they were then at a distance of a few months journey from the city. The shepherd honoured her and kept her and protected her., but eventually as she had nowhere to go, he married her. They had three children who grew up.

One day she was washing laundry in the same river where she had appeared many years before, she slipped and fell in. As she opened her eyes.. he found himself sitting across from the caliph, holding the chess piece and still looking up into the eyes of to Hadrat Abdul-Qadir, who said to him, "Now, venerable priest , do you still believe.?"

The priest unsure what happened to him and thinking that it was a dream, responded with the words, "What do you mean?"

"Perhaps you would like to see your family ?" the saint inquired. As he opened the door, there stood the shepherd and the three children.

Seeing this , the priest believed. He and his congregation number among the five thousand Christians who became Muslim by the hands of to Hadrat Abdul-Qadir.
