The words of the Qur'an have both an outer and an inner meaning,

The words of the Qur'an have both an outer and an inner meaning, the latter overpowering. Do not regard the surface alone, for the devil never regarded Adam as mere clay. The surface meaning of the Qur'an is like a human torso, features visible, but the spirit hidden.-Rumi, Mathnawi

Prophet Muhammad, the Rasulullah (Salallahu Alaiyhi Wasalam), placed the Qur'an in the hands of his followers and said, In order to understand this, go even unto China to learn divine knowledge ('ilm). Within one word in the Qur'an, there are thousands of meanings. Don't hold onto to just one meaning. Look within and there will be another meaning. Within that is another meaning, and within that is still another. As you uncover meaning after meaning, you will see Allah at the very end. When you go beyond all the messengers (rasuls) and look within, you will find Allah. The angels are also there. Go beyond them and look, go beyond everything and look, and then you will see heaven. Go beyond heaven, and Allah is there. Do not pray for heaven. Go beyond and look. Allah will be there ~ M. R. Bawa Muhaiyaddeen

All things in balance

He raised up the sky, and set all things in balance; he commanded you not to upset that balance, but to respect it. He laid out the earth for all creatures; and he planted upon it trees that bear blossom and fruit, husks that carry grain, and herbs that emit a fragrance. Which of the Lord's blessing would you deny? He created human beings from dry clay, as a potter creates pots; and he created spirites from the flames of fire. Eight Years ago - The invasion of Iraq

Eight Years  ago my son Naasir was 12 yrs old and he started to memorize the Holy Quran two months after the invasion of Iraq started. He is now a Hafiz-ul-Quran and the invasion of Iraq is still happening. Iraq has been disentigrated and the civilian death toll is now 100,000. The world cares so much about the 4000 American soldiers but no one cares about the Iraqi civilian death toll . There is no end in sight for the end of this war. The trillions spent on the invasion of Iraq could have eliminated poverty for the entire world.

We protested at the Anti War Protest in Toronto in 2003 http://www.flickr.com/photos/bknb/185125498/ . I was very optimistic that with enough protests that this war would not have happened. I was so wrong with my optimism!!.

My son was born in 1990 one month after the first U S war with Iraq. His name means helper in Arabic. InshaAllah one day he will be able to help some of the suffering in this world.

Little boy about nine years old #Surah Yasin

Little boy about nine years old reading the english translation of Surah Yasin. When Surah Yasin was put on the table, he put his game down and started to read the copy of Surah Yasin. He must have been reading it for about one hour. Later I asked him if he was reading the english, he said yes. I asked him did you understand. He gave me the hand gesture (meaning so so....). He is my cousin's son.
